from RUSSIA ... (by S.Laurance Johnston, Ph. D, Paraplegia News. September 2005 г.)
A Russian stem-cell therapy is an important piece of the puzzle that brings us closer to the overall goal of restored function after spinal-cord injury

Healing options. S. Laurance Johnston, Ph. D. (Paraplegia News. April 2005 г.)
When I directed PVA's Spinal Cord Research Foundation (SCRF) a decade ago, function-restoring interventions for spinal-cord injury (SCI) were rare and usually off the radar screen in that pre-Internet era. In contrast, today, so many promising surgeries are in the developmental pipeline it is difficult to keep track of them; at this ever-accelerating rate, the next decade's progress is anticipated with great excitement. This article's purpose is to provide brief synopses of some of these surgeries involving transplantation of various stem or olfactory cells.

The brain tissue engineering. A.S.Brukhovetsky. Clinic of Restorative Interventional Neurology and Therapy 'NeuroVita', Russian Oncology Research Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Moscow, Russia
For sake of realization of our concept we only tried to use legally approved in USA and Europe modern hightechnology surgery methods of treatment according to intratissue cerebral reconstruction ideology suggested by us. It enables by means of algorithmic employment of small scale invasion grafting information and telesurgery methods achieve rebuilding of tissue morphology structure of brain pathology locations, remodeling its vascular and vegetable supply and after all by application of selective electromagnetic radiation of High-frequency band or neurostimulation, try to get dynamic integration of its components. Hospital recovery of best cerebral functions is provided by specially directed rehabilitation.

New cell technologies in the treatment of severe vertebrospinal trauma. A.S.Brukhovetsky and Y.A. Merkoulov, 2003 EFNS European Journal of Neurology 10
Achievements of modern neurobiology and surgery open unlimited possibilities in organ reconstruction and tissue engineering. Application of transplantation and enterogeno-surgical approaches in spinal trauma treatment enhances the CNS cells survival ...
